A Lifelong Fascination With History. A Constant Urge To Create.

Greetings! My name is Chris Villand, and I’ve been building furniture and cabinetry since 2006. My interest has always been inlaid decoration – using different wood species and colors to create patterns and images in a flat surface. Over time, this has become my specialty. Most of my woodwork skills come to me from my father, who has done carpentry and woodcarving for as long as I can remember.

Much of my inspiration comes from old woodcarvings. I have a family and historical connection to Norway, and the old Norse acanthus and dragonstil carvings are my favorites. I cut my inlay pieces using a scroll-saw, guided by eyes and hands.

All my pieces are custom. If something you see here inspires an idea or image in your mind, let me know.
